Q. Does the standard camera connect via Wifi or phone or is that an optional feature at an extra cost?
A. It’s all included.
Q. I imagine there is software you download to the PC or smartphone. Is that software free?
A. Correct and yes, free. The softwares are available for download in the Documents & Downloads tab.
Q.Is is both Mac and PC compatible?
A. Yes, both.
Q. Can it connect to multiple PC’s and phones at the same time?
A. It can only connect to one device at a time. It is for real time notifications.
Q.Does that have reports or is it just for real time monitoring? Any other features there?
A.It is for real time notifications. Reports can be done but through our Enterprise level HikCentral software. The Enterprise level software requires that the organization has a PC or server set up to run the software. The MSRP pricing for a 4 channel set up is $913. Contact us for details.
Q. Can this be held by a standard tripod or does it require a special one?
A. Most will work. It needs to have a ¼ 20 set up.
Q. What can you tell me about the blackbox? Is it really needed?
A. The black body is useful for helping the camera to regulate a very active temperature change scene. Using the blackbody calibration will increase the temperature accuracy from .5 degrees F instead of .9 degrees F.
