The HID 2000PGGMN iCLASS® smart card was specifically designed to make access control more powerful, more versatile, and more secure when compared with legacy 125 kHz frequency technologies. iCLASS 13.56 MHz read/write contactless smart card technology provides versatile interoperability in applications such as access control, network log-on security, cashless vending, time and attendance, event management and biometric identification.

iCLASS® smart card technology enables mutual authentication between smart card and reader, encrypted data transfer, and uses 64-bit diversified keys for read/write contactless smart card capabilities. However, these techniques alone are no longer sufficient to protect card data from modern hacking techniques.

The 2000PGGMN iCLASS® smart card meets ISO standard for card size and thickness for use with direct image and thermal transfer printers. It features a graphics quality surface optimized for Photo ID printing, and is available in standard PVC construction, or a composite polyester/PVC construction for more demanding high wear and tear environments. The smart card can be produced with visual security and anti-counterfeiting features such as holograms, ultra-violet fluorescent inks, micro-printing, or a custom logo to quickly and easily identify genuine smart cards.

The HID 200X part number series is HID’s most popular iClass card type. The last number in the part number dictates the iClass memory size.  In this case, the last “0” indicates a 2k bits (256 Bytes) card with 2 application areas.

The PGGMN portion of the part number is called the configuration. Each letter gives information on how the card looks or features of the card. Here is a brief overview of what each letter means in the configuration. See the 2000 Ordering Guide PDF in the Documents and Downloads tab for the full details.

P- Programmed- this should always be the case when ordering
G- Card Front- Plain White PVC w/Gloss Finish- This still includes the card range number written in black (if M is selected below as well), the small blue HID logo, and the 3 dots indicating where it is safe to slot punch the card.
G- Card Back – Plain white with a Gloss finish.
M- Card Numbering- M means that the external number is printed on the card and matches the internal card range number. This is the standard HID configuration.
N- Slot Punch- N means there is not a slot punch. There is still 3 indicator dots on the card to indicate where slot punching can be done safely later. It’s safest to slot punch the cards after printing with a desktop ID printer to avoid possible damage to the expensive printhead in the ID printer.

Ordering HID 2000PGGMN cards can be difficult, Easy Badges can help.

All HID credentials, such as cards, fobs, and tags, are preprogrammed with a data format. The 26 bit H10301 format is the most widely used and considered an Open Format, meaning that anyone can purchase HID cards in this specific format. While most access control systems accept the standard 26-bit format, there may be some systems that only support a different card format. The HID ordering code number for the standard 26-bit format is H10301. This format allows for 255 possible facility codes ranging from 1 to 255. Each facility code can have up to 65,535 card ID numbers, ranging from 1 to 65,535. If you are unsure of what formats your system accepts, please feel free to contact us or request a test card. Easy Badges has a wide range of formats available for purchase.

“ Madeline, who was absolutely AWESOME”

Due to the various kinds of programming available for cards, I reached out via chat to a support agent, Madeline, who was absolutely AWESOME. She sent me a sample card or two to verify that the card I needed was the one I was going to be ordering, and verified all of the info I needed to get the right
