The HID 3000PGGMN iCLASS® SIO-Enabled (iCLASS SE) smartcards are part of the next-generation iCLASS SE access control platform and open ecosystem based on HID’s Trusted Identity Platform (TIP) architecture for advanced applications, mobility and heightened security.
iCLASS was specifically designed to make access control more powerful, more versatile, and more secure, with encryption for all radio frequency data transmission between the credential and reader using a secure algorithm. iCLASS SE extends this technology by providing additional key diversification, authentication, encryption and portability for advanced security and performance.
HID’s iCLASS SE 13.56 MHz read/write contact-less smart card technology can be used for diverse applications such as physical access control, PC logon, biometric verification, time and attendance, cashless vending, public transportation, airline ticketing and customer loyalty programs.
The 3000PGGMN iCLASS® smart card meets ISO standard for card size and thickness for use with direct image and thermal transfer printers. It features a graphics quality surface optimized for Photo ID printing, and is available in standard PVC construction for more demanding high wear and tear environments. The smart card can be produced with visual security and anti-counterfeiting features such as holograms, ultra-violet fluorescent inks, micro-printing, or a custom logo to quickly and easily identify genuine smart cards.
The HID 3000 part number series is HID’s most popular iCLASS SE card type. The last number in the part number dictates the iCLASS memory size. In this case, the last “0” indicates a 2k bits (256 Bytes) card with 2 application areas.
The PGGMN portion of the part number is called the configuration. Each letter gives information on how the card looks or features of the card. Here is a brief overview of what each letter means in the configuration. See the 3000 Ordering Guide PDF in the Documents and Downloads tab for the full details.
P- Programmed with Security Identity Object (SIO)
G- Card Front- Plain White PVC w/Gloss Finish- This still includes the card range number written in black (if M is selected below as well), the small blue HID logo, and the 3 dots indicating where it is safe to slot punch the card
G- Card Back- Plain White PVC w/Gloss Finish- The standard and most popular backing
M- Card Numbering- M means that the external number is printed on the card and matches the internal card range number. This is the standard HID configuration. The Printed card number is placed in the bottom right-hand corner on the back of the card.
N- Slot Punch- N means there is not a slot punch. There is still 3 indicator dots on the card to indicate where slot punching can be done safely later. It’s safest to slot punch the cards after printing with a desktop ID printer to avoid possible damage to the expensive printhead in the ID printer.
