The security of an ID card should always be the top priority when designing it, even if other aspects like color, layout, and design are important. Neglecting the security element can lead to unauthorized duplication of the card by anyone with access to an ID card printer. To address this concern, all Magicard ID card printers come equipped with a built-in card security feature called HoloKote®. This feature prints a secure watermark on the surface of the card, ensuring its authenticity and preventing counterfeiting. With the Magicard 300 and 600, you have the flexibility to customize this watermark according to your organization’s specific logo or security design. You can choose to have it tiled or stretched across the card, adding an extra layer of uniqueness and protection to your ID cards.
Magicard’s patented Holokote technology allows for the printing of a secure watermark directly onto the surface of a card using standard consumables such as ribbons and cards. This unique feature is achieved by incorporating the HoloKote image into the clear overcoat application during the standard print process. When the card is tilted in the light, the frosted watermark-like layer becomes visible, providing a visual verification of its authenticity. Users of Magicard direct-to-card printers have the option to choose from four different secure Holokote designs through the printer driver.

This cutting-edge security feature can be obtained through a special request, with a quick turnaround time allowing customers to begin creating secure ID cards much faster than with a customized holographic overlaminate solution, and at a significantly lower price.
Activating your secure watermark
Like its predecessor, the Magicard 300 and Magicard 600 can print an anti-fraud customized watermark on every card. It enables the secure online delivery of bespoke HoloKote watermarks via the printer driver interface. Where previously only one design was available per printer, now users can store up to three custom designs on the Magicard 300 and up to ten on the 600.
