The Easy Badges Temperature Screening Kiosk is equipped with an infrared temperature sensor/detector and the system provides an alert if an individual is running a fever. The system uses an algorithm for fast detection temperature accuracy.

The Temperature Screening Kiosk by Easy Badges meets the FDA guidelines for non-medical screening devices. The kiosk is not FDA certified. Our solution should not be used for official medical diagnosis. It should not be used to diagnose an illness or disease or in a medical office for the purpose of recording temperatures for patient healthcare records, for example. It is simply a hands-free, temperature screening tool.

FAQ

1. What is the lead time?
About 4-6 weeks and dropping.

2. How long does it take to detect a person’s temperature?
Between 1–3 seconds.

3. At what distance will it detect someone’s temperature?
0.5 to 1 meter distance, but for best results place head at 0.5 meters.

4. How does it work?
The system is calculated with an algorithm for object heat- and fast detection temperature-accuracy, with a refresh rate
of 64Hz.

5. Who sets the high temperature threshold?
You can configure it in the software.

6. How accurate is the Infrared Sensor?
+/- 0.5 degree Celsius.

7. How many people can it detect at one time?
1 person at a time.

8. Is the unit able to detect people at different heights?
There is a sensor and camera that adjusts from 3′ to 6.5′.

9. Does it notify anyone if the temperature is too high?
If the device detects that an individual has a temperature over the configured value, an alert notification will sound until it no longer detects that temperature. There is a heat map in the top right corner of the screen so the user can identify the high temperature point the device is referring to. Optionally, a screenshot can be automatically captured of the person and emailed to a pre-set list, indicating someone with a temperature beyond the threshold has been screened.

10. Can the system detect animals?
No, only people.

11. Will the unit overheat?
The unit has been designed with heat dissipation to combat overheating due to long-term use.

12. What OS does it run on?
Linux, Windows and Android. However, the user-interface has only been developed for Android.

13. Is the app in the cloud?
The software runs locally on the tablet.

14. Is the device stand-alone or does it need to connect to Wi-Fi or a network? If it needs to connect to a network, why is it required?
It can be used without a network. If Wifi is enabled, email notifcations can also be enabled.

15. Where does it save information?
Data can be stored locally on the kiosk, including temperature results and facial recognition logs. The tablet is equipped with 8GB eMMC Flash memory. It is expandable up to 16GB.

16. Does it identify the person or other data?
The facial recognition functionality will save an employee’s face and log each temperature scan of that person into a file. If the screenshot email notifications are enabled, the person’s name will also appear in the screenshot notification. The log of scans will be stored on the tablet and can be retrieved directly from the tablet . This functionality will be delivered in a software update and will not require any additional purchase. Once available, it can be updated remotely.

17. From a security perspective, how frequently are security patches updated?
As frequently as needed.

18. Does it have reports?
Reports TBD.

19. What will be required from IT to deploy the device and application?
The standard product is a stand-alone device with preconfigured software, so only power is required.

20. Does the device meet FDA guidelines?
Yes, the device meets FDA guidelines for non-medical screening purposes. We will abide by all FDA guidelines as they are available.

21. Can you get centralized data from multiple kiosks?
No, not right now. A cloud based version of the software may be available in the future, but will be at an extra cost if released.

22. What other features will eventually be available?
